What is important to you when you shop for the store? What can a fair like CIFF contribute with? What does it take for an exhibitor to catch your attention? These questions have been asked by TØJ to the two stores MG in Haderslev and A’poke in Vejle.

What is important to you when buying for the store?
When we shop for MG, it is like decorating a house from scratch. The store is divided by colours, and there should be a play of colours that makes customers curious. We are very visual when we buy. It requires overview and calmness. And we always want to buy something for the store that surprises – otherwise, it becomes a boring place to visit. We never compromise on quality, so we also look at where in the world the products are produced and what the DNA of the various brands is.
What can a fair like CIFF contribute with?
We primarily use the CIFF fair to look at colours and qualities. Maybe there is a new brand we need to check out to see if it fits into our universe. We also use the fair for networking – that is important too.
How does an exhibitor catch your attention?
Usually, we have prepared in advance and know what we need to find at the fair. It might be that we need some knick-knacks, and that can lure me onto an exhibitor’s stand – otherwise, it is the qualities and maybe a very attentive salesperson that can catch our eye. Of course, I am also driven by passion for the industry, but we are generally very focused and really not easy to lure.

What is important to you when buying for the store?
The most important thing is to ensure we buy a combination of styles that are trending but also align with what our customers like. We know what suits our customers because we have a close collaboration with them – both in the store and on social media via our webshop. This way, we know our customers’ needs and what they are asking for.
What can a fair like CIFF contribute with?
For us, it is important to attend the fair, even though it is a time priority. Every six months, we visit CIFF and get a lot of fair vibes. Each time, we look forward to seeing the various trends and meeting our suppliers. CIFF gives us a good overview, as everything is gathered under one roof, where we get inspired and updated.
How does an exhibitor catch your attention?
It has to be something we need and that we cannot get from our current suppliers. We cannot be tempted by everything, but if there is something very eye-catching that offers something new and unique, we take a closer look at it.
