Mette Marie Nørgaard has launched Infinito 2012 with a well-organised business foundation. Her background as an advisor to the fashion industry ensures that both bottom line and aesthetics go hand in hand in the bag and accessories company. With a focus on perfected craftsmanship and conscious choices throughout, she insists on staying true to what feels right – always carefully considered.
It started as a kind of Italian summer dream. Mette Marie Nørgaard and close family friends in Tuscany knew a family-owned business with confident design traditions and exquisite Italian craftsmanship. Over time, this became Infinito 2012, founded in North Zealand in 2023. Founder and owner Mette Marie Nørgaard brings more than 20 years of experience from the fashion industry. She wanted a brand she could truly stand behind and aimed to build something made to last:
“Based on my experience in the industry, I took a step back. I wanted to do things simply – without unnecessary layers and without complicating more than needed. The product has always been at the core.”
Infinito 2012 creates bags and accessories in a timeless aesthetic, where Nordic simplicity is fused with Italian craftsmanship in form, function and expression. The products are handmade in Tuscany by an IT01-certified and renowned manufacturer with deep roots in traditional leatherwork. Everything is made to order, and no style is added without purpose.
“I believe that if you want to create a good product, you have to put as much good into it as possible. Not big campaigns – but quality craftsmanship and good materials,” says Mette Marie Nørgaard.

The Value Set
Mette Marie Nørgaard is no newcomer to the industry. She has worked at InWear Group, IC Companys and Bruuns Bazaar, and for several years she sharpened her professional edge as an advisor to small and medium-sized businesses, with strategy, branding and export as her core focus. This experience is now fully integrated into Infinito 2012, where relationships and human values are central:
“It all begins with the relationship and the human being. That’s the foundation of everything I do. I’m on a journey with my retailers and partners, and it has to feel right. When the energy is present, we achieve the best results together.”
She therefore prioritises long-term relationships and close collaborations with both producers and retailers – and sees it as a strength when demands are made:
“I like it when my retailers are discerning. They look after their customers, who are conscious consumers – just like myself. It shows that the choice is conscious and considered. And when that’s the case, it usually creates strong results and loyalty.”
A Strong Core with Built-In Caution
At Infinito 2012, responsibility is not an empty buzzword. It permeates everything from material selection to pace and pricing structure. With a small, efficient setup, Mette Marie Nørgaard maintains full overview and ensures that all decisions are both financially and ethically sound:
“I often say no to initiatives that don’t align with my way of working. It’s not that I have all the answers, but my experience makes me aware of how important it is to consciously prioritise the order of things. Otherwise, it can quickly spiral – and for me, it’s crucial that the business grows in a stable way.”
The price, for example, reflects a simple structure and a choice not to wrap the product in unnecessary costs. It’s a balance Mette Marie Nørgaard works with continuously.
This thorough approach also means uncompromising quality control – which she handles personally. It’s a value she shares with her Italian manufacturers, where love of the craft and pride in doing things properly are central. It has to be just right:
“I set high standards for what we send out. I’m not critical for the sake of being critical, but out of respect for both the craft and the customer. A product should ideally be able to stand on its own – without needing explanations.”
Growth at Her Own Pace
Although Infinito 2012 is still a young brand, it has built a solid core. Growth is not driven by market pressure but happens at a pace that makes sense:
“Growth is important, and for me it’s about building something that can endure – financially and personally.”
Doubt does arise at times for Mette Marie Nørgaard – not as a weakness, but more as a professional reflex that keeps her sharp:
“I have great respect for all the good that already exists. Doubt keeps me alert and helps me fine-tune.”
A Business in Sync with Itself
The future is about carefully considered decisions. The Netherlands, Sweden, and Norway are natural next markets – but international expansion will only happen when the timing is right:
“I know what it takes to succeed across borders, and that’s why expansion has to be deliberate. For me, it’s about ensuring liquidity is in place while maintaining quality and core values throughout. It’s about preserving closeness and humanity – even as the company grows.”
In a market defined by constant change, Mette Marie Nørgaard sees agility and integrity as key competitive parameters:
“I’m inspired by companies – large and small, across industries – that manage to maintain both agility and integrity in an unpredictable market. It requires a practical mindset and conscious decisions all the way through, with a focus on both flexibility and responsibility.”
